Pet Shop Boys, "Go West"
This is the weirdest one I've ever done or heard. You've got the praise song preceding the punk pop song . . . add that to the fact that I realized the ripoff was in progress by listening to sports talk radio, and it's just odd. But it's worth a listen.
The song was originally recorded in 1978 by the Village People, and was written by Harry Smith and Victor Willis who were lovers. Willis was the leadsinger of the Village People.
ReplyDeleteHenry Smith wrote ‘Give thanks with a Grateful Heart’ and published it in 1978... In 1979, the Village People released ‘Go West’, more than a year after Smith’s worship song....
